intercare stroke recovery

Patient Story | Stroke Rehabilitation | 1 min read

On 21 February 2022, Ian, an accomplished designer, collapsed at his home. He had suffered a double stroke. After two weeks in the hospital, Ian was discharged home, but no one was sure to what extent he would recover. Amid the storm, hope arose. Ian’s fiancee, Lana, reached out to Jacaranda 94.2 Good Morning Angels to lend a helping hand.

Intercare Irene Sub-acute Rehabilitation Hospital instantly offered to evaluate Ian’s condition to determine the best recovery plan. The multi-disciplinary healthcare team spent three days with Ian doing physiotherapy, cognitive, psychology, and speech assessments and then created a home-based care plan.

“I don’t know how to thank all of you. It’s beyond a blessing. He hasn’t responded like that to anything. Please keep us in your prayers for now. We can do all these things on our own and know that we are truly grateful – so much love to all of you from the bottom of my heart. “, Lana.
