Intercare Century City is delighted to welcome Dr Nicolene Oertel, a dedicated general medical practitioner with a special interest in travel health, to the team.
Dr Oertel completed her MBChB at the University of Pretoria in 2011. She undertook her internship at 2 Military Hospital, where she gained valuable clinical experience through rotations at Victoria Hospital and Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital. Her career has since spanned primary care, surgical medicine, and expatriate health, reflecting her broad and versatile medical expertise.
In 2023, Dr Oertel obtained a Certificate of Competence in Travel Medicine through Wits University, equipping her to offer specialised care and guidance to patients preparing for international travel.
With a warm and patient-focused approach, Dr Oertel is committed to delivering accessible, comprehensive healthcare. Her interests outside of medicine include hiking, horse riding, and spending time with friends and family, which mirror her energetic and compassionate nature.
