Introducing Dr Ashleigh Taylor at Intercare Polokwane | 1 min read

Intercare Polokwane welcomes Dr Ashleigh Taylor, a medical practitioner with a strong clinical focus on mental health, and special interests in HIV, TB, and geriatric care.

Dr Taylor completed a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, Cell Biology and Human Physiology and later an MBBCh, both at the University of the Witwatersrand. She completed her internship in Pietermaritzburg and her community service year in Mafikeng, where she chose to work in psychiatry.

She has worked in both hospital and general practice environments, gaining extensive experience in psychiatric care. Dr Taylor strengthened her expertise further by obtaining a Diploma in Mental Health through the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa. She has also worked as a GP for patients enrolled in clinical trials, including TB research, and has additional experience in general practice with a mental health focus.

Dr Taylor is committed to helping patients improve their overall well-being and reach their full potential. She also has a particular interest in the long-term care of older patients. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with family and friends.
