Intercare welcomes Dr Dale Cilliers as Clinical Head: Intercare Physical Rehabilitation Hospitals – Western Cape, effective 1 August 2025.
Dr Cilliers brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to patient-centred care. After qualifying with an MBChB from Stellenbosch University in 2001, he began his medical journey in emergency medicine, earning the Diploma in Primary Emergency Care (Dip PEC SA) in 2004.
His leadership abilities were consistently demonstrated throughout his ten years at Mediclinic Panorama Emergency Centre, where he served as Head of Department for seven years. Driven by a passion for clinical leadership, he pursued further studies in general management through Stellenbosch University. He completed a Diploma in Advanced Emergency Centre Management, jointly through the Universities of Cape Town and Stellenbosch.
Dr Cilliers has held diverse roles across the healthcare landscape, including leading remote and telemedicine support teams for the oil and gas industry through United Healthcare Global (UK/USA). His broad clinical experience spans general practice, private psychiatry support, and medico-legal work for the NHS in the UK.
In 2021, he served as a lead consultant for the Emergency Health & Safety initiative at Anglo American, further demonstrating his ability to navigate complex healthcare environments.
When Dr Cilliers joined Nurture Health Group in 2015 at Cape View Physical Rehabilitation and Sub-Acute Hospital, he was able to focus on his passions for geriatric medicine and inpatient care. His dedication to innovation and leadership is reflected in his training as a facilitator in creative thinking with Synnovation.
Outside of work, Dale is a proud husband and father of four. He lives in Durbanville, where he enjoys reading, singing, playing guitar, gardening, and cycling. We are looking forward to the growth and excellence he will bring to Intercare rehabilitation hospitals in the Western Cape.
