Amelia shares a story of hope and encouragement by sharing her testimonial on overcoming certain mental health challenges.
My name is Amelia, and I am here for a reason.
I didn’t plan to take a trip this time of year. However, I packed quickly because I was going on my annual guilt trip.
I carried my baggage, which was weighed down with many memories of what I have and what could have been. When I arrived at Regret City International Airport, nobody greeted me. This town is called “International” because people come to this dismal place worldwide.
I checked into the Last Resort Hotel, where this year’s most important event, the Annual Pity Party, occurred. I wasn’t going to miss this great social event. Most people would be there, including the Done family, the Should have Done, Could have Done, and Would have Don’t. Then there’s the I Had family, the Yesterdays, and the Shattered Dream family, who will all have a sad story to share. The It’s Their Fault family will also appear.
“I realised that I am strong and here for a reason.”
Ultimately, I realised there would be no benefits in attending this depressing party. So, I left the city of Regret and left no forwarding address.
Please cancel it immediately before you plan to take a trip down memory lane to the City of Regret. Instead, take a trip to a place called Starting Over. When you arrive there, the load will be lifted from your shoulders, and you won’t have to carry heavy baggage.
I realised that I am strong and here for a reason. Doing little things and helping others, even animals can be healing. Ignore others’ bad words and respond with good actions. Doing little good things consistently can make you a hero, even if only in your own eyes.
Remember, words are powerful. They can make or break a person. With only words, you can explain what is inexplicable, articulate the invisible, and describe indescribable things.
In the last 24 hours, what did you do with your words? Your words can change the world, so please use them wisely. Use fruitful words that inspire others to grow, whether at work, at home or in sports.
Why change to fit a particular peer group, a malicious crowd, or a destructive team? It’s like rescuing a dangerous animal in distress; some would say don’t do it because it will hurt you. But don’t change your good intentions and pure heart just because you might get hurt. It’s an animal’s true nature to harm, but it’s your true nature to be excellent.
NEVER CHANGE.
