Phimosis

  • Condition of the penis where the foreskin cannot be retracted over the head of the penis
  • Cause may be due to poor hygiene, inflammation or possible scarring from repeated forceful retractions of foreskin
  • Cannot be spread from person to person
  • Can occur at any age but more common in infants and school age children
  • May be mild to severe
  • Not life threatening

Manage high blood pressure

Regular prenatal appointments

Seek medical attention if:

Bleeding through more than one pad or tampon per hour

Severe uterine pain or sudden, moderate pain

Severe back pain

Trauma to the abdomen, such as a fall, motor vehicle accident or abuse
