Condition resulting from untreated gonorrhea, a sexually transmitted bacterial infection
Bacterial infection spreads to the bloodstream often affecting the entire body
Symptoms may include fever, joint pain, red rash or skin lesions and discharge from the vagina or penis
Spread by sexual contact with an infected person
Affects males and females
Can occur at any age but more common in teenagers and young adults
May be mild to severe resulting in complications
Treatments
Avoid sexual intercourse

Avoid items or situations that cause you to itch
Moisturize daily
Use creams, lotions or gels that soothe and cool the skin
Avoid scratching
Cut fingernails short, and consider wearing gloves at night to prevent scratching

Cover area with cold wet bandages or take a cool bath
