  • Non-cancerous growth on a male’s prostate gland
  • Symptoms may include frequent urination at night, bladder fullness, hesitancy with urination, and sense of incomplete emptying
  • Cause unknown
  • Can occur at any age but most common in men over 50 years
  • May be mild to severe

  • Avoid drinking 1-2 hours before bed
  • Drink frequently throughout the day
  • Avoid caffeine and alcohol
  • Urinate at regular times throughout the day
  • Urinate with first urge
  • Regular exercise
  • Relax and take time when urinating

Avoid over-the-counter antihistamines, decongestants and allergy pills when possible
