Infection of the bone
Symptoms may include pain and tenderness in the bone, fever and redness of the skin over the affected bone
Caused most commonly by a bacterial infection
Cannot be spread from person to person
Affects males and females
Can occur at any age
May be mild to severe

Maintain a healthy diet
FOR FEVER
Apply cool cloth to forehead or armpits
Drink plenty of fluids (especially water)
Avoid alcohol, tea and coffee as these drinks can cause slight dehydration
