• Cancer of the lung
• Symptoms may include weight loss, hacking cough, blood in sputum and difficulty breathing
• Cause may be due to tobacco smoking, lung disease or exposure to radiation or irritants such as radon gas or chemicals
• Cannot be spread from person to person
• Affects males and females but more common in males
• Can occur at any age but more common in elderly
• May be without symptoms but is severe and life threatening
