Condition that results in bouts of repeated attacks of headaches
Symptoms may include head pain that may be throbbing, pressure or explosive type of pain
Cause unknown but may be due to an abnormality in the brain, increased blood flow to the brain or abnormal levels in certain hormones or brain chemicals
Cannot be spread from person to person
Affects males and females but more common in males
Can occur at any age but more common in older adults
May be mild to severe lasting a few minutes to several hours
Not life threatening but can affect quality of life

Maintain a regular sleep schedule
Do not use alcohol
Limit exposure to oil-based paint, gasoline, and some household cleaners
Use caution in high altitudes
Do not use tobacco
Do not consume any smoked or processed meats
