  • Infection of the skin resulting in boils or abscesses
  • Symptoms may include large, tender and reddened rash containing pus, usually found in clusters
  • Most commonly caused by bacteria
  • Cannot be spread from person to person
  • Affects males and females
  • Can occur at any age
  • Typically, mild in nature

  • Apply warm compress to lesion
  • Wash gently with soap and water
  • Wash bedding, clothing and towels in hot water
